Learn MoreDieting in February
Each year many people make the New Year’s Resolution to lose weight and I admit that it’s been on my list for several years. While I start out with the best intentions, something happens about the third week into the new year. We start getting back to our normal routine followed by the yearly winter cold. These two events completely derail any early diet success. Soon after this we find ourselves off our diet and breaking that resolution so early in the new year.
This year I vowed not to make any resolutions, and I’ve decided to start my diet in February. This way all the holidays are way past us and we are firmly back into our routine. That winter cold should be kicked to the curb by the we roll into February. This will be a great time to get motivated to lose weight as spring will be in sight. Got to get ready for those long summer days at the beach. Winter will soon be ending and there will be more opportunities to exercise.
So no more New Year’s Resolutions for me as it is always a setup for failure especially when it comes to dieting. Getting adjusted to another year is hard enough without adding the stress of watching every calorie and trying to exercise when it’s 20 degrees. Starting a diet in February just makes more sense for us. I just wished I had thought about doing it years ago and saved me from all those broken resolutions.
